Day Pitney LLP announced that Tara Pollard has joined the firm as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. As Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Pollard will work closely with the firm's Executive Committee, the Partner in Charge of Diversity and Inclusion and the Chief Talent Officer to advance the core value of diversity and inclusion at the firm.
Pollard has worked in Diversity and Inclusion roles for fourteen years and most recently, as the Director of Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion/Enterprise Talent Management at The Travelers Companies, Inc. in Hartford. In these roles, she has led the support, design and delivery of deliberate retention and development programs to support diversity and inclusion goals.
"Tara's past experience and dedication to diversity and inclusion makes us confident she is the perfect fit for this role. We are delighted to have her as an addition to the firm to drive D&I initiatives and look forward to advancing a more diverse and inclusive legal culture at Day Pitney to benefit all our attorneys, staff and clients," said Theresa Kelly, the firm's Partner in Charge of Diversity and Inclusion.
Kelly recently assumed the role of Partner in Charge of Diversity and Inclusion, and she will work closely with Pollard, to ensure the firm achieves all goals. Pollard will also collaborate with the firm's Organization and Talent Development Team, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Hiring Committee, Retention and Development Committee, Day Pitney Attorneys of Color, Women Working Together, the Day Pitney Alliance for LGBTQI attorneys and staff and their allies, the Racial Equity and Justice Task Force, and the Day Pitney Working Parents Group.
"I am ecstatic to begin my role at Day Pitney and dive head-first into further developing the firm's efforts to be diverse and inclusive," explains Pollard. "I look forward to working with the team and striving to keep diversity, equity and inclusion top priorities that contribute to the firm's continued success."
Diversity and inclusion is a core value at Day Pitney. The firm continuously achieves Mansfield Certification Plus recognition from Diversity Labs for having at least 30 percent women and attorneys of color in leadership positions, and was recently named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality by HRC's 2021 Corporate Equality Index.
