Tom Goldberg was quoted in the Law360 article, "How The Legal World's Response To 2020 Differed From 2008." The article discusses how the industry reacted much more thoughtfully in response to the coronavirus pandemic and that firms especially seemed to prioritize retaining associates.
Goldberg explains that 2008 was on the minds of firm leaders this past year. "We were poised to be invested in growing, and we wanted to maintain our options to do that," he said. "Strategically, when making decisions, we want to be in a position to have kept our new talent and trained our new talent … and that was informed by looking at what happened in the wake of the 2008 crisis."
In December 2022, Day Pitney represented a state pension fund in connection with a $500 million investment in a closed-end "fund of one" formed by an asset management company focused on direct private credit opportunities in the form of senior, mezzanine and opportunistic loans to lower middle market companies.
The arrival of Michael Schwartz, Day Pitney Trusts and Estates Partner, to the firm's New York office was featured in the Law360 Pulse article, "Curtis Trusts and Estates Pro Jumps to Day Pitney in NY."
