Sandra (Sandy) M. Ferrera, a seasoned real estate attorney, joined Day Pitney LLP as a lateral partner in its Coral Gables office on January 1.
"Sandy will be a tremendous asset to our firm. She possesses long-standing roots in the local business and legal communities and shares our goal of building a team of commercial real estate lawyers in Florida," said Day Pitney Florida Managing Partner Manuel A. Garcia-Linares. "With the addition of Sandy, we believe there is significant opportunity to expand our commercial real estate practice throughout Florida."
A native of Miami, Ferrera spent 15 years, seven as a real estate partner, in a boutique Downtown Miami law firm before starting her own firm in 2015.
"In my solo practice, I represented banks, and a range of investors, owners and developers," said Ferrera. "I'm looking forward to offering them the full-service capabilities and sophistication that Day Pitney offers."
Ferrera is the former President of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Foundation, and she continues to be very involved in both. She is also a member of the Florida, Dade County and Coral Gables Bar Associations, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispanic National Bar Association. Ferrera has been active in a number of community organizations, including as a prior Young Ambassador for the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation and prior Board Member of UAspire Miami.
She earned her B.A. from Florida International University, and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.
