Day Pitney Hosts End-of-Year Ethics and Other Hot Topics for In-House Counsel CLE Seminar
Day Pitney is pleased to offer its fifth annual end-of-year CLE Seminar 'Ethics and Other Hot Topics for In-House Counsel,' to be held November 13 at Day Pitney's Parsippany, NJ office. Join our panel as we walk through a day in the life of Madonna, in-house counsel at the nationally renowned Florist Gump Corporation, as she delicately navigates the minefield of ethical hurdles she confronts in her busy life. Participate in an interactive discussion as we assess the many rules of ethics at play as Madonna updates her social media before heading to the office, where she confronts the challenges of keeping client confidences, dealing with former employees as witnesses, and using artificial intelligence while doing so, only to encounter more dilemmas as she winds down her day at happy hour with her colleagues.
Participants will vote on how Madonna handles:
- Protecting client confidences, including the impact of web-based e-mail on attorney-client privilege
- Confidentiality concerns when traveling with electronic devices
- Managing communications with and compensation of former employees serving as trial witnesses
- Utilizing artificial intelligence in legal research, judicial analytics, and discovery
- Posting on social media, texting with clients, and whether to engage in legal small-talk at social events
Panelists will include Day Pitney attorneys John DeSimone, Paul Marino, Angela Titus McEwan, Clifford Nichols and Elizabeth Sher. Registration is at 4:00 p.m., with presentations starting at 4:15 p.m. and a cocktail reception and networking directly following at 6:00 p.m. 2.0 NY and NJ Ethics CLE credits, and 1.75 CT CLE credits will be offered.
