Steven Cash was interviewed live on MSNBC by anchor Richard Lui. Cash discussed reporting by The New York Times that White House Counsel Donald McGahn has had interviews totaling 30 hours over the past nine months in connection with the Mueller investigation. Cash told Lui that this is not surprising and the Mueller investigation has been characterized by a carefulness and a detail orientation that has taken a long time, which is how investigators get to the truth. He also noted that from a prosecutor's perspective, during an investigation, different sources of information and witnesses are examined with the thought that truth can be sought after and found. In a second clip, Cash addressed another article from The New York Times reporting that Trump's legal team is concerned about McGahn's discussions with Mueller's team. Cash clarified that McGahn is counsel to the White House as an institution, not the President himself, and stressed the importance of not interfering with an ongoing investigation. He further commented this is likely an example of the legal system working as it should in a lawful investigation.
