On January 25, Christopher Stracco was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IOLTA Fund of the Bar of New Jersey, effective March 1, 2017. Chris was appointed to the Board of Trustees by the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 2014. The IOLTA Fund awards grants providing funding for free legal services to low income people with civil legal problems, improvement in the administration of justice and education about the law. The source of the IOLTA Fund's resources are interest on lawyers' trust fund accounts, and similar funds are present in almost every jurisdiction in the United States. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation receives a share of IOLTA's revenue to carry out its mission of promoting public understanding about the law.
