Steven Cash was quoted in an article,"In Patz Case, Prosecution Is Set to Rest," in the Wall Street Journal. The article describes the use of a video confession by prosecutors in the retrial of Pedro Hernandez, who is accused of killing 6-year-old Etan Patz in 1979 in New York City. Cash, a former Manhattan district attorney, said each time the confession is played for a witness in front of the jury, it is an opportunity to corroborate Hernandez's statements. "It explains his confession, and it provides outside independent perspective on what he is saying," Cash said
