Parsippany, NJ, March 15, 2016 - Day Pitney LLP was named a "Champion of Good Works'' by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ) at CIANJ's recent Chairman's Reception saluting the generosity of the business community.
A panel of judges reviewed all the submissions from 80 businesses and presented trophies to 33 businesses. More than 250 business executives attended the gala reception at the Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack.
"For most of these companies their donations, kindness and community outreach are part of their corporate culture -- their mission," said Martin Kafafian, chairman of the CIANJ board of directors. "The public at large is often unaware of the magnitude and scope of the good works. This reception is our way of shining a spotlight on "Companies that Care."
Paul Marino, chair of Day Pitney's Pro Bono Committee, attended the event.
"We are honored to be presented with this award from CIANJ," said Marino. "Our employees have consistently contributed to and volunteered for charity organizations within New Jersey. In addition, our lawyers have volunteered their time pro bono in connection with a wide variety of litigation and transactional matters, assisting those in the community who would not otherwise be able to afford such assistance."
