Political Party's Lawsuit Challenges Conn. Election Law
Day Pitney was mentioned and Stanley A. Twardy was quoted in an article, "Political Party’s Lawsuit Challenges Conn. Election Law" in The Connecticut Law Tribune. The article is in connection with Twardy, Dan Wenner, John Cerreta and Dan Raccuia’s representation of the Libertarian Party of Connecticut in coordination with the Connecticut chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union in a lawsuit against the state of Connecticut. The complaint filed for the Libertarians seeks to halt the State of Connecticut's enforcement of state statutes that unconstitutionally restrict core political speech by requiring those who gather signatures for candidate nomination petitions to be residents of Connecticut. The case has been assigned to Chief Judge Janet C. Hall in New Haven. Day Pitney is handling the case pro bono.
