Heather Weine Brochin Appointed as Day Pitney New Jersey Office Managing Partner
PARSIPPANY, NJ, December 15, 2016 – Day Pitney has announced that Heather Weine Brochin has been appointed as the new Office Managing Partner of Day Pitney's New Jersey office, effective January 1, 2016.
"Heather will be an outstanding office leader," said Day Pitney Managing Partner Stanley A. Twardy, Jr. "She is an excellent lawyer who has earned the respect of the lawyers and staff in Parsippany."
In her new role, Brochin will be responsible for promoting the office's capabilities within the firm, supporting the local partners and their needs, establishing a positive work environment and coordinating local community involvement. She will follow the footsteps of Day Pitney partners Greg Parliman and Tony Marchetta, who have been in the role for the past three years.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to take on this leadership role," said Brochin. "I look forward to raising the profile of our legal capabilities within New Jersey. I am excited to work with our excellent team of lawyers and staff to reaffirm our commitment to client service in the Parsippany office."
Heather Brochin is a partner in the Employment and Labor practice. Her practice is focused on employment law litigation and counseling and employee benefits litigation. She represents clients in state and federal courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state human rights commissions. Heather regularly advises employers with respect to a broad range of personnel issues, including hiring, termination, reductions in force, employment discrimination, unlawful harassment, restrictive covenants, wage and hour issues, internal investigations, executive compensation, personnel policies, disability, and leave. Heather also has substantial experience negotiating and drafting employment and separation agreements on behalf of both companies and individuals and conducting trainings for employers on various employment law issues. In addition, she has handled collection and withdrawal liability disputes between multiemployer plans and employers.
Brochin is the second new Office Managing Partner to be promoted within the past six months. Ellen Knarr was appointed as the new Office Managing Partner of Day Pitney's New York office in September.
