Rick Harris was quoted in an article, "The Hard Lesson Everyone Should Learn from Peoria, Ill.'s Twittergate Scandal," in Government Technology. In the article, Harris explains lessons learned from a lawsuit between a Twitter impersonator and the mayor of an Illinois town. The lawsuit came about after the mayor of Peoria involved the police in identifying the individual that was allegedly impersonating him on social media. The lawsuit, filed with the help of the Illinois American Civil Liberties Union, finally ended in a settlement, costing the Illinois municipality and its taxpayers $125,000.
