Day Pitney continues to move up in the rankings compiled by Chambers & Partners?- Chambers USA 2010, America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
In all, 40 attorneys and 16 practices received national and regional rankings in the prestigious guide, which was released today. Five practices received Band 1 rankings in their respective regions. Two practice areas?- Franchising and Wealth Management?- received national recognition, as did five Day Pitney attorneys.
Several Day Pitney attorneys were ranked in the guide for the first time. Gerald Garfield, the chair of Day Pitney's Energy practice, received a national ranking in the category of Energy: Nuclear (Regulatory & Litigation). Boston partner Mark Swirbalus was ranked in Massachusetts in the category of Litigation: General Commercial. In New Jersey, partner Scott Zuber was ranked in Bankruptcy/Restructuring and Michael Dunne was ranked in Corporate/M&A. Day Pitney's White Collar team in New Jersey earned a full practice ranking for the first time this year.
The Chambers USA 2010 rankings are based on unbiased interviews from clients across the United States. According to Chambers & Partners, both clients and attorneys were interviewed by a team of more than 150 full-time researchers, with greater weight given to the opinions of the clients. The qualities on which the rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by clients.
