American businesses and their attorneys are becoming increasingly concerned about the increase in counterfeit products being sold over the Internet and the rise in trade secret theft. Now the federal government is stepping up enforcement efforts in an attempt to tackle the problem.
"Increasingly, the value of U.S. businesses is found in their intellectual property," said Jonathan B. Tropp, a Stamford-based litigator at Day Pitney who focuses on IP cases. "Protecting that value is more important than ever."
Day Pitney Partner and chair of the Patent Prosecution and Counseling group George Chaclas was featured in a Q&A on Law.com titled, "How I Made Practice Group Chair: 'Making Connections With The Right People,' Says George Chaclas of Day Pitney."
Partners Kevin J. Duffy and Richard H. Brown authored the article, "Shouting FIRE! (or Worse) on Social Media: The Interplay of the First Amendment and Government Involvement in Efforts to Limit or Remove Social Media Content," which was published in the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Journal.
