Day Pitney began 2010 with changes to the firm's leadership.
New Jersey partner Dennis LaFiura has taken the helm as the chairman of the Executive Committee. Hartford and Washington, DC Energy partner David Doot has also joined the firm's four-member Executive Committee, which manages the firm.
Mr. LaFiura, a nationally recognized attorney with a focus on Franchise Litigation, was re-elected to a three-year term. "This is an exciting time to be leading a law firm," Mr. LaFiura said. "The past year has been tough for law firms and the economy has yet to fully rebound, but we are beginning to see positive signs and look forward to setting our sights on growth."
Mr. Doot is the newest member of the firm's Executive Committee, which also includes Judith Babinski in New Jersey and Robert Siegel in Hartford. Ms. Babinski focuses her practice on real estate development matters and Mr. Siegel is a partner in the Corporate and Business Law department.
"I am honored to be on the Executive Committee and look forward to working with the other committee members in guiding the firm through these challenging times," said Mr. Doot, who practices in the areas of Public Utility and Energy Law, one of the firm's key practice areas for more than 75 years. "I feel we are in a strong position to grow the firm and I appreciate the vote of confidence extended to me by my partners."
Mr. Doot will also serve a three-year term.
