Rachel G. Packer and Joy Harmon Sperling authored an article, "Ocwen Victory Good for All NJ Home Lenders: Appellate division finds mortgage outlives life estate," for Mortgage Daily. The article discusses the recently published decision of Ocwen Loan Services v. Quinn, in which the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division affirmed a decision of the Superior Court, Passaic County, granting summary judgement in favor of a plaintiff-mortgagee. "This decision is a significant victory for lenders," Packer and Sperling wrote. "Had the Court found in favor of the [defendants], the plaintiff would have been precluded from enforcing its mortgage lien for potentially decades, while it waited out the duration of the [defendants’] life estates."
