Bill Goddard, Dan Raccuia and Jim Bowers authored an article,"Insurers Must Brace For New Corp. Governance Disclosures," in Law360. The article examines The Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure Model Act and Model Regulation, which have been promulgated by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). The new model law has been passed into law by five states: California, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana and Vermont. Other states are expected to follow suit in the near future. The law requires a very invasive level of disclosure about an insurer's corporate governance, management and incentives.
