Westchester/Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC)

Day Pitney sponsored a program, "Parade of Corporate Horribles: Responding Ethically to a New Problem Around Every Corner," presented by the Westchester/Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC). Attendees participated in a discussion of how an in-house lawyer spots and addresses a series of ethical issues as the hypothetical company faces a white collar crime incident that turns into a broader crisis.

Speakers included Day Pitney attorneys Steven Cash; Jed Davis; Helen Harris; Stan Twardy and Dan Wenner as well as Patricia Canavan, Executive Director and Counsel (Litigation) and as of December 1, 2018, Head of Investigations for the Americas, UBS AG and David Yawman, Executive Vice President, Government Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, PepsiCo, Inc. Topics discussed included the ethics, privilege and professional responsibility issues related to: identifying and responding to a cyber incident; initiating an internal investigation and uncovering—in the investigation—further concerns over possible financial crimes, national security and corruption issues.
