As part of its ongoing Family Office Investing Series, Day Pitney hosted a private, invitation-only program, "Real Estate Investing: Challenges and Opportunities in a Rapidly Changing Landscape," at The Cornell Club of New York. The program included an in-depth discussion of investment considerations, challenges and opportunities impacting family offices and developers in real estate.
R. Scott Beach, Chair of Day Pitney's Corporate and Business Law department and head of its Family Office practice, welcomed approximately 80 attendees, provided the opening remarks and introduced the featured speakers.
The keynote speaker, Jeffrey Otteau, President of Otteau Group, Inc., gave an overview of the current commercial real estate market sectors. Otteau has been actively engaged in real estate consultation and valuation for over 40 years and is frequently quoted on real estate trends in leading business publications.
The keynote was followed by a panel discussion on investment opportunities in multiple property classes, including multi-family, industrial and recreational. The panel was moderated by Peter Wolfson, Partner at Day Pitney, and panelists included Mark Landau, Managing Director, Head of Acquisitions and Capital Markets at Imperial Companies, a real estate investment and development company; Adam Shapiro, Founder & Principal of Highpoint Property Group, a New York-based real estate development firm; and Jamie Torres Springer, Partner at HR&A Advisors, a real estate and economic development consultancy. The program concluded with a Q&A session. This website may use cookies, pixel tags and other passive tracking technologies, including Google Analytics, to improve functionality and performance.
