Cathy O'Connor participated as a panelist in a December 6 CLE program presented by the Connecticut Bar Association entitled "Ethics and Intellectual Property: Traps, Pitfalls and Adventures in IP Lawyering." Topics included various ethical issues that can arise when representing clients in IP matters, from initial intake and acquisition of rights, to commercialization, enforcement and litigation. O'Connor's discussion included ethical issues involved in pretext investigations and use of investigators, drawing on her work with the International Trademark Association (INTA) Subcommittee studying this issue.
The panel included other trademark and patent practitioners and IP litigators from across the state.
