Doug Gillette and Bill Goddard will be featured panelists during the UConn School of Law's Symposium on Municipal Distress on Friday, September 15. Day Pitney is a sponsor of the symposium, which will feature three discussion panels on topics relating to the increasing incidences of municipal fiscal distress in Connecticut, and the legal and operational strategies available to meet these challenges. The program is intended to benefit Connecticut’s municipal leaders, as well as members of the legal and financial professionals serving Connecticut communities. Gillette will be a panelist presenting a discussion titled, "Resources," which will discuss Connecticut’s Municipal Finance Advisory Commission role in providing financial advice to troubled Connecticut municipalities, statutory tools available to municipalities, and resources available through the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. Goddard will be a panelist on a discussion titled, "Remediation," which will feature practical approaches to municipal distress in the context of relevant case studies.
