NYU School of Professional Studies
On July 11, Margaret St. John Meehan presented the session, "Estate Taxes II: The Marital Deduction, Credit Shelter Planning, and Portability," at the Introduction to Trusts and Estates Conference, hosted by NYU School of Professional Studies. The session also explored planning with the "applicable exclusion amount," the credit shelter (or "bypass") trust and the basics of "portability" under the Tax Relief Act of 2010, the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and the Federal Regulations.
