Boston Bar Association Trusts & Estates Section Mid-Year Review Webinar

On January 19, Heidi Seely and Christopher Voukides presented on the Boston Bar Association webinar, "Trust & Estates Mid-Year Review." The two-hour session covered recent federal and state case law, legislation and tax law matters. Seely, co-chair of the Public Policy Committee, discussed the Parentage Act, MUTDA and other legislative acts moving through the Massachusetts legislature. Voukides, co-chair of the New Developments Committee, discussed recent cases involving the inclusion of a trust interest as a marital asset, and Massachusetts estate tax inclusion issues related to out-of-state QTIP property. The Tax Law Updates Committee also reported on important updates regarding the Internal Revenue Code, federal tax law and recent related cases.
