On October 30, Andrew Ingalls spoke on a panel, "Emerging Federal Statute Developments and Strategies for Defending Against Innovative Borrower Claims," at the 26th National Forum on Residential Mortgage Regulatory Enforcement & Litigation, presented by the American Conference Institute (ACI) and held in Dallas, TX. The panel focused on determining and implementing best practices under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), including examining recent cases involving communications with debtors after their debt has been discharged in bankruptcy. Discussion topics included the latest developments in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) litigation and compliance, including the status of cases involving accessibility of mortgage lending institution's websites by visually impaired individuals.
