American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge Jerome L. Greene Family Center
Day Pitney LLP, along with Caritas Partners (the Philanthropic Trading Division of Celadon Financial Group, LLC), Essential Fund Services International, LLC (ESFI) and WithumSmith+Brown, recently co-hosted "An Evening of Hope: Maximizing Philanthropic Outreach," an invitation-only event at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge Jerome L. Greene Family Center in New York City.
The program included an in-depth panel discussion on the latest trends in philanthropy. The discussion was led by Suzanne Currie of Celadon, and featured insights from Jennifer Pagnillo, partner and co-chair of Day Pitney's Tax-Exempt Organizations and Charitable Giving practice group; Richard Naso, founder and CEO of Caritas Partners; Robert Schachter, partner of WithumSmith+Brown's Financial Services and Investment Group, as well as its State and Local Tax Services Group; and Anthony Mascia, co-founder and partner of EFSI.
Following the program, attendees enjoyed a networking reception where they had an opportunity to learn more about charitable opportunities and the ACS's Hope Lodge. The Hope Lodge facility provides safe and welcoming accommodations at no charge for cancer patients and their caregivers who travel to New York for treatment. Since opening in 2007, Hope Lodge has welcomed over 15,000 guests totaling more than 147,000 nights of complimentary lodging.
