On April 25, Day Pitney LLP and the Association of Corporate Counsel, Northeast Chapter – Women's Initiative co-hosted a program, "Talking the Talk…Walking the Walk? Influencing Female Representation in the Legal Profession," held at Day Pitney's Boston office. The program focused on various initiatives influencing the representation of women within corporate and legal organizations.
Approximately 30 attendees participated in a round table discussion covering the opportunities and challenges that in-house attorneys and law firms face in creating a culture of diversity within organizations. The conversation also addressed various resources and ideas for effecting change.
Boston-based Day Pitney partner Carrie Webb Olson led the discussion, and speakers included Iciar Garcia, Mandy Petrillo and Elaine Steward, Counsels, Boston Red Sox & Fenway Sports Management; Kady von Schoeler, Assistant Vice President & Counsel, MassMutual Financial Group; Stephen Franco, Portfolio Manager, U.S. Trust; Richard Wasserman, partner and past chair of Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Day Pitney; and Jenny Waters, Executive Director, National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL).
Due to the high level of involvement and positive feedback from attendees on this program, Day Pitney and the ACC Northeast Chapter – Women's Initiative will co-host a second event in late June this year to continue the discussion and further talking points.
