On October 18, 2012, Day Pitney sponsored a table at "Friends in Concert," the annual fundraising event for St. Vincent Academy (SVA), the only all female secondary school in Newark serving a primarily minority population. This year's event was attended by Day Pitney attorneys, guests and clients, including 2012 Barbara Rosenthal Day Pitney intern Samantha Ortiz. It featured a tribute to the four female honorees which was authored by an SVA alumna who recently graduated from Harvard University and was performed by SVA students. In furtherance of Day Pitney's relationship with SVA, which includes a school supply drive that the Firm has sponsored each summer since 2007, Day Pitney attorney Rachel Gonzalez is spearheading a mentoring program in which Firm attorneys will assist SVA seniors with the college application process.
