Day Pitney Sponsors the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut Sixth Annual Awards Dinner

On October 11, 2012, Day Pitney was a Platinum sponsor of the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut Sixth Annual Awards Dinner held at the Hartford Hilton. Almost twenty Day Pitney attorneys, staff, and clients attended. The keynote speaker and recipient of the 2012 SABAC Distinguished Legal Professional Award was Rachana Bhowmik -- Deputy Assistant to the President Obama and Deputy Cabinet Secretary in the White House. The 2012 Community Service Award recipient was Valarie Kaur, a graduate of Yale Law School who received the award for her work on hate crimes against Sikhs in the aftermath of 9/11 and with the Oak Creek, Wisconsin temple tragedy this past summer. The 2012 Trailblazer Award was awarded to Republican State Representative Dr. Prasad Srinivasan, who is the first South Asian State legislator in Connecticut.
