Day Pitney Sponsors the Rutger's Minority Student Program Banquet and 45th Anniversary Celebration
On April 11, 2013, Day Pitney was the cocktail hour sponsor of the 45th anniversary of Rutgers School of Law-Newark's Minority Student Program (MSP) at the annual banquet hosted this year at Nanina's in the Park, Belleville, New Jersey. Day Pitney's sponsorship included the donation of 10 tickets to students.
The theme for this year's banquet was "Honoring the Women of the MSP." The event honored keynote speaker Okianer Christian Dark, Interim Dean of Howard University School of Law. Elizabeth H. Kim '09, an associate of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C., received the Young Lawyer Award.
More than 100 guests attended the event, including Day Pitney attorneys Paul Halasz, Andres Mayor, Herbert K. Ryder, Andres Acebo, and Sylvia-Rebecca Gutierrez. Guests of the firm included MSP student Michael Margarella, who will be joining the firm for a second summer term, and Andy Mercado, Day Pitney's newly hired summer MSP student.
