On May 10, 2013, Day Pitney was a Gala Supporter of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association's 29th Anniversary Awards Gala held in New York City. Gala honorees included: Michael Tucker, executive vice president and General Counsel of Avis Budget Group; Rhonda Joy McLean, deputy general counsel at Time; Rossie Turman, III, partner at Skadden Arps; the Honorable LaTia Martin, Justice of the New York Supreme Court; and Seymour James, Jr., attorney-in-charge of the Criminal Practice section of The Legal Aid Society and president of the NYSBA.

More than 500 guests attended the event, including Day Pitney attorneys Bisha Nurse, Leander Gray, Dennis LaFiura, and Paul Halasz, and Director of Diversity Asker Saeed.
