On March 28, 2013, Day Pitney was a platinum sponsor of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association Award Gala in Boston.

The keynote speaker for the evening was Theodore V. Wells, Jr., partner and co-chair of the litigation department at Paul Weiss. The Trailblazer Award recipient was the Honorable Justice O. Rogeriee Thompson of the First Circuit Court of Appeals. A lifetime achievement award was given posthumously to former Harvard Law School professor, civil rights attorney and political activist Derrick Bell, Jr.

More than 650 guests attended the event, including Day Pitney attorneys Sara Colb, Jonathan Handler, David Lieberman, Erika Cagney, Jeff Fritz, Jeff Clopeck and Bill Pezzoni, as well as Director of Diversity Asker Saeed.
