Marketing and Business Development Assistant - Hartford, CT; Parsippany, NJ

The Marketing and Business Development Assistant position is an essential component of our Marketing and Business Development Department. The assistant is responsible for supporting the marketing and business development efforts of the law firm. The person in this role will report to the Director of Marketing, and will collaborate with others in the department on diverse projects, assisting where needed and as necessary to meet firm marketing objectives. In addition, the position is responsible for handling general administrative tasks, including processing invoices and expense reimbursements and tracking projects.

The person in this position will need to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. They will be asked to handle multiple tasks, making it important for them to be able to manage their time, set priorities and problem-solve. They will interact with firm employees at all levels, including executives, partners, other attorneys, legal assistants and staff in various departments. It is extremely important that they have a professional demeanor, outgoing personality and good oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be team-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, organized and have the desire to work in a collaborative environment as an assistant to a Marketing team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department's activities
  • Draft and publish content for website and social media
  • Update marketing database and spreadsheets with client contact, financial, and non-financial information
  • Conduct research and analyze websites from relevant sources
  • Participate in quality control process for collateral and email campaigns
  • Aid with marketing collateral and business development requests
  • Support the event manager with planning and execution of firm events, where needed
  • Handle purchases and attorney requests of marketing promotional items and gifts, including maintaining inventory
  • Assist where needed and as necessary to meet firm marketing objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills
  • Superior computer skills and tech savvy (proficiency in MS Office)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and achieve deadlines
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, resourcefulness and ability to work independently and closely with others.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy
  • Desire to take on new projects and develop additional skills
  • Professional work experience required, professional services/law office experience strongly preferred
