Environmental Associate – Parsippany, NJ

Day Pitney is seeking an associate with 2-5 years of environmental experience to join our growing team in our Parsippany, NJ office.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in environmental transaction and regulatory compliance issues related to real estate development and business transactions, including environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance and enforcement, ISRA compliance, water and wetlands, site remediation, brownfield redevelopment and remediation, and environmental permitting.  Experience engaging with environmental regulatory bodies, including the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preferred.

Day Pitney's Environmental team represents commercial and industrial real estate developers and owners in all aspects of complex real estate and environmental matters and helps them work through complex technical and compliance issues that involve multiple disciplines.  In addition, our team counsels heavy industry with respect to ISRA compliance, site remediation, and environmental permitting needs.  The team draws upon their close working relationships with federal, state and local environmental and land use agencies and tracking of current developments to assist their clients through complicated environmental regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated environmental experience (with an emphasis on transactional and site remediation matters)
  • Excellent technical, legal research, professional and client service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
  • Effective and efficient problem solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
  • New Jersey Bar admission in good standing
