Michael Allen, a litigator, represents clients in matters involving insurance and reinsurance, product liability, business fraud, intellectual property and the Uniform Commercial Code. He also has experience representing clients in franchise litigation, real estate fraud claims, and shareholder disputes in close corporations.
Successfully represented a large German automobile manufacturer at trial in a product liability lawsuit in the Superior Court of Hartford, where plaintiff alleged millions of dollars in damages due to an alleged defect in his automobile's rear-wheel brake assembly; judgment entered as a matter of law against the plaintiff and the case was dismissed
Successful represented an equipment manufacturer in patent infringement lawsuit brought by a non-producing entity in the Federal District Court for Eastern District of Texas; after briefing of motion to exclude plaintiff’s expert and summary judgment based on the obviousness of plaintiff’s patents, the case settled overwhelmingly in the client’s favor
