Albert Llosas Barrueco

Professional Experience
Albert L. Barrueco graduated with Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2007. While in law school, Albert was the managing editor of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal and published a Comment entitled, "Fast-Tracking United States v. Booker: Why Judges Should Not Fix Fast Track Disparities," 6 CONN. PUB. INT. L.J. 65 (2006). During his final year, Albert represented indigent criminal defendants in state court through the law school's criminal clinic and served as legal intern to the Judiciary Committee at the Connecticut General Assembly. Albert was also a member of the Student Bar Association, the Latino Law Students Association, the Connecticut Unemployment Action Center, and co-president of the Law School Democrats.
Albert was awarded the 2006 Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship Award for outstanding scholastic performance and commitment to the Hispanic community. He also received the Alvin Pudlin Memorial First Amendment Award for his work in teaching civil rights to Connecticut inner-city high school students. He was also the recipient of the Law School Dean's Scholarship and appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee in the Spring of 2005.
Prior to joining Day Pitney, Albert worked as a legal intern to the state's attorneys office in Meriden, CT and served as law clerk to The Honorable Michael R. Sheldon of the Connecticut Superior Court.
Albert received his B.A., summa cum laude, in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. He was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and immigrated to Connecticut with his family when he was nine years old.
