Claudia T. Centomini

Professional Experience
Claudia has been a labor and employment practitioner for almost 20 years. Claudia regularly advises and represents employers in wage/hour matters, discrimination claims, labor arbitrations, and other labor and employment matters. She represents clients before judicial forums and administrative agencies, including: the Massachusetts Labor Relations Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, the National Labor Relations Board, and the United States Department of Labor on employment discrimination claims, wage hour matters, other employment law claims, and labor disputes. She also advises clients on day-to-day personnel matters, drafts employment handbooks and personnel policies, conducts internal wage audits, and provides assistance with sexual harassment and discrimination investigations.
Claudia served as commissioner of the Massachusetts Labor Relations Commission from 1993-1998, where she oversaw hearings and decisions in state and municipal labor disputes in accordance with the Commonwealth's collective bargaining laws. She also served as general counsel of the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries, where she enforced the Commonwealth's wage and hour laws, worker safety laws, child labor laws, Sunday opening laws, and prevailing wage laws. Claudia also served as legal counsel for the Minority Leader's Office of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she drafted, reviewed, and analyzed legislation.
