Day Pitney is pleased to announce that for the third time this year the firm has been honored for its continued focus on diversity.

The firm was presented November 5 with the Founder's Award from the Urban League of Greater Hartford for its ongoing support of the organization's work in the community. Day Pitney Co-Chairman James Sicilian accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the Urban League's 45th Annual Equal Opportunity Dinner.

The Founder's Award is presented to acknowledge the contributions of companies or individuals who work to enhance communities in the greater Hartford region.

Other diversity awards the firm has received this year include the Amistad Center For Art & Culture's Spirit of Juneteenth Award, which was presented in June at the organization's 18th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, the largest multi-cultural event in the greater Hartford area.

In May, Day Pitney was also presented with the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity 2009 Edwin Archer Randolph Diversity Award at a ceremony that also took place in Hartford. Prior recipients of the award have been individuals and Day Pitney is the first organization to be singled out for the honor. In recognition of the award, Connecticut Gov. Jodi Rell issued a proclamation officially declaring May 6, 2009, to be "Day Pitney Day in the State of Connecticut."
