Day Pitney Partner Named New Vice President of Connecticut Bar Association

Day Pitney LLP announced today that Brad Gallant, a Partner in the Individual Clients Department of the Firm's New Haven office, will become Vice President of the Connecticut Bar Association on July 1, 2009. The CBA is the preeminent organization for lawyers and the legal profession in Connecticut. Mr. Gallant's election became official at the CBA's Annual Meeting in Hartford on June 8.
Jim Sicilian, Co-Chair of Day Pitney's Executive Committee, hailed Gallant's election as an outstanding accomplishment in a career marked by numerous professional honors and achievements. "For many years, Brad has been a respected leader within the Connecticut legal community and beyond," Mr. Sicilian said. "The CBA will benefit from Brad's energy, experience, and wisdom."
Mr. Gallant is a past chair of the CBA's Estates & Probate Section, serves on the Executive Committee of the CBA's Elder Law Section, and is a member of the CBA's Animal Law Committee. In addition to his CBA leadership role Mr. Gallant is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He chairs the ACTEC Elder Law Committee and serves on ACTEC's Fiduciary Litigation and Asset Protection Committees. He is a life fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation and, since 1989, has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Since 2006, he has been designated by Worth magazine as one of the top 100 lawyers in the United States serving individual clients. In 2006, Mr. Gallant was named one of "the top ten" of all Connecticut lawyers by Connecticut Magazine.
"I greatly value the access to quality continuing legal education that the CBA provides and hope to extend the benefits of our programs to all Connecticut lawyers and paralegals. I strongly believe this is in the best interests of the public, the legal profession and our entire legal system. I will be working towards this goal in the years ahead," said Mr. Gallant.
