Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that 11 lawyers have been recognized as leading litigation practitioners in Benchmark: Litigation, the Definitive Guide to America's Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys. The firm ranks in Benchmark's "highly recommended" category in New Jersey and Connecticut.

With respect to the firm's New Jersey office, Benchmark reports that "clients say they are 'absolutely delighted with their work,' and praise lawyers for their major business and commercial practices." One client said, "We fully anticipate that Day Pitney will remain among the top 5 percent of the several hundred firms we use around the world."

In Connecticut, Benchmark reports that Day Pitney "remains a firm on the rise with a growing national presence and roots throughout the northeast," whose lawyers are described by competitors as a "thriving group."

A number of the firm's lawyers receive mention in Benchmark's Connecticut rankings. Steven Greenspan is described as a litigator "at the 'top of his class' with a footprint across the country based upon recent growth of the firm." Partner Joseph Scully "joins Greenspan as a recognizable figure in the Connecticut marketplace" with a "unique insurance and reinsurance practice" that "gained particular acknowledgment from his peers."

"Statesman" John Nolan, who is "active in a variety of practice areas across the country," is "considered unsurpassed by peers." Victoria Woodin Chavey is "considered a member of the next litigation wave to practice in Connecticut," and was noted for securing "favorable judgment for Fortune 50 clients throughout the year."

In New Jersey, Benjamin Haglund "receives praise for his work in product liability and shareholder disputes," and was recognized for two recent case successes. Dennis LaFiura, co-chair of Day Pitney's Executive Committee, is recognized for his work in professional liability, securities, and franchising matters and for his representation of clients including Wyndham Worldwide, Century 21, and Ford Motors. Anthony Marchetta was recognized for his work in complex commercial, securities, and negligence litigation, and Robert Rose for his handling of environmental insurance litigation matters, including an $80 million settlement for one multinational corporate client. Rounding out the list are attorneys John Scordo, recognized for his litigation work in insurance, contract disputes, and real estate; Kristine Feher for her "significant experience" with employment discrimination and wrongful discharge litigation; and Elliot Ostrove, for business torts and trade secrets litigation.
