Davis and the other panelists will discuss the new cybersecurity regulation promulgated by the New York Department of Financial Services that went into effect March 1, 2017. The regulation, which DFS has characterized as a "first in the nation" regulation, requires regulated entities to "establish and maintain a cybersecurity program designed to protect consumers' private data and ensure the safety and soundness of New York's financial services industry." Davis and the other panelists will discuss the genesis and context of the regulation, what companies need to do to comply, and any ambiguities or difficulties with the regulation that may need to be addressed going forward. The event will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Jacob Burns Moot Court Room, 55 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY.
