Privacy Policy
Updated: October 17, 2008
This policy describes information Day Pitney LLP ("DP") collects about visitors to its Web site www.daypitney.com (the “Web site”), how we use this information and other related matters. This policy applies exclusively to the information we collect via this Web site and does not apply to any information we may collect in any other manner.
By using the Web site, you agree to the collection and use of information by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Web site. The data collected on the Web site belongs exclusively to DP, and DP is solely responsible for creating and maintaining this policy. We reserve the right to share all data and information with successors in interest to DP.
Information We Collect
"Personally Identifiable Information" (“PII”) refers to information that directly identifies you, such as your name, business affiliation, postal address, telephone number and e-mail address. DP collects PII only when voluntarily provided by you in online forms, registration forms, or through other online mechanisms. “Non-Personally Identifiable Information ("Non-PII") refers to information that does not identify you but which can be used to track certain Internet conduct. For instance, your computer's IP address, your web browser's identity and what pages of the Web site you visit may all be used to collect information about how the Web site is used without identifying your name or other PII. We collect Non-PII from you by "passive" means, often through the use of cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a Web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. You can alter the configuration of your browser to refuse to accept cookies, but if you do so, it is possible that some areas of web sites that use cookies will not function properly when you view them.
Using Information
We use PII in order to respond or process a specific request or inquiry you may make through the Web site. For instance, if you complete an online form requesting a DP newsletter, we will use your PII to send you the newsletter. In addition, DP may use PII to send you other information about our Firm, its lawyers, and/or legal issues by sending you alerts, invitations to events, or other items and materials we believe may be of interest to you. We generally collect Non-PII for internal purposes and to help us interact with visitors to the Web site.
Sharing Information
We may share PII with other businesses or companies that assist us with Web site administration and other functions, such as fulfilling requests for information or sending alerts, invitations or other materials. DP will take reasonable steps to make sure these other businesses and companies are obligated to protect PII on DP’s behalf and do not use this PII for their own benefit or share this PII with other parties. We may share Non-PII in aggregate form with third parties to analyze data, and illustrate trends and patterns. In addition, DP reserves the right to utilize and share any information to investigate illegal conduct, violations of the Terms of Use governing this Web site, to comply with legal process (e.g. subpoenas), to assist law enforcement agencies, or if DP believes in good faith it is required by law.
Opt-Out
To opt-out of receiving information from DP, send an email to webmaster@daypitney.com stating that you no longer wish to receive email from DP. You may also follow the opt-out instructions included in e-mail communications you may receive from DP.
Changes
We reserve the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy. When we make changes, we will change the “Updated” date noted above.

The Web site may contain links to other sites run by third parties unaffiliated with DP. We are not responsible for the information collection practices or the content of the sites to which we link.
Security
We use secure operating environments to protect the integrity of the information you send to us. Unfortunately, no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we are committed to protecting your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. We also take reasonable precautions that the data we collect is accessible by only those employees with a need to know basis and may not otherwise be reviewed.
Under 18
We do not knowingly or intentionally collect any personal information from, or market to individuals, under the age of 18. If a child you know of has provided us with information, please contact us immediately so that we may identify the information that needs to be removed.
